Why Does It Matter What I Believe?

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” —1 Cor. 3:11 (NIV)

1. What is a World View?

My Worldview: ___________ ____________ I build my life on.

2. Why does it matter what I believe?

“Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” —Pr. 4:23 (TEV)

“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.” —Pr. 29:18 (MES)

“Always be ready to give a logical defence to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully.” —1 Peter 3:15 (AMP)

3. HOW CAN I STRENGTHEN MY WORLDVIEW?

___________ WHAT IS TRUE.
“Learn the truth and never reject it. Get wisdom, self-control, and understanding.” —Pr. 23:23 (NCV)

___________ WHAT IS FALSE
“Don’t believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying teachers loose in the world.” —1 John 4:1 (MES)

__________ FROM THE WORLD TO THE WORD.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” —Romans 12:2 (NIV)

_____________ YOURSELF WITH GOD’S AGENDA.
“God will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” —Luke 12:31 (NLT)

“Stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.” —1 Cor. 14:20 (NIV)
