Mission Mexico – Day 2

March 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

Karlene Guy files this report:

We started the day early – very early.  The roosters outside kept most of the team awake all night long.

Despite the imperfect sleep, “we” accomplished many things.  I say “we” because we are teasing Jason for not having to work very hard today.  he spent the day making 5 trips into the city to go shopping.

While Jason was shopping, we all helped with the demolition of the boys bathroom and shower room.  As we worked, “Mother Al” made sure we were all drinking enough, wearing safety glasses and bandaging any little cuts.  Some of the little boys were a really great help.

During a break, Jen and Caryn were in their “room” and soon all the little girls were in the room as well.  They shared M&Ms and painted each others toenails.  Pam said she couldn’t hold her hand still to paint after working so hard on construction.

Montie was busy with the work on replacing ceiling fans in the kitchen.  We’ve run into some electrical challenges, so Montie stayed to figure it out (or go to sleep!) while we drove into the city.

We spent some time walking along the coast and enjoying the night-life of Mazatlan.  After stopping for coffee, we all headed home for devotions.

With ear plugs now, we’ll let you know if we can catch a few more z´s tonight.
