Today was an encouraging day. At devotions we wrote encouraging words to each team member. We studied Romans 15:1-7 to help carry us through the next week.
It is also encouraging to see a difference in the dorms. The women started painting the walls and we love the blue in the boys room. It makes it seem so much bigger and welcoming. Jen commented on the girls dorm, “The walls are clean, it´s not peeling, and its all one colour. I´m trying to keep positive about the ugly colour.” The paint was supposed to be light pink, but it turned out to be almost orange.
We can see many changes in the bathrooms as well. Two workers were hired to help construction and they will continue the work in the girl´s washroom if we cannot complete it in time. It is interesting to see their methods and to learn from them.
The number of sunburned team members is climbing at an alarming rate. Jason is wearing a “white permashirt” with red sleeves. Stephanie, Montie and Jen are dangerously pink.
Laura and Linda got into big trouble after spending the morning in the fabric store. They were late to serve us lunch, and we were so hungry! Supposedly they only were in the store for 30 minutes, but we don´t believe that.
VBS was a success again today. We taught the kids that “God is with us” or “Dios esta con nosotros.” We had 27 kids today and they all had a great time.
The pregnant cat is having her babies tonight, so we´ll keep you posted!
