VERSE:
Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence. —Proverbs 3:31-32
THOUGHT:
As society wrestles with ever-increasing violence, the issue of the effect of violence in the media is often debated. Millennia ago, Solomon offered thoughts on this very subject. He warned us not to admire the person whose fame is built on violence. The Beatitudes put it best, “Blessed are the peace makers, for they will be called children of God.”
