WHAT IS CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE?
Christmas Assistance helps Edmonton families and individuals celebrate Christmas who may not otherwise have the means to provide a meal or gifts for their children.

Our desire is for families to be able to celebrate together; gathered around a meal, with gifts for their children under the tree.
​
Our provided services can include:
Food Gift Gard
Gifts for children 12 and under
Teen Gift Card
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECIEVE CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE?
Families and Individuals who meet the following requirements:

Verified low-income
Verified identification of everyone on application
Live within our Postal Code Service Area (Referral to other Ministry Units if outside)
Must not apply for Christmas Assistance elsewhere (Santa's Anonymous, Christmas Bureau, Etc.)
Apply only for immediate family/household, children must live with applicant and be under their guardianship

HOW TO APPLY

Applicants must provide:
Phone Numbers f0r all adults
Current Address
Estimated household income (Includes income for household members over 18 years old)
​Names and ages of all members of household​

Followed by In person Appointment:​
Applicants will be contacted for an in person appointment at our location (9115 75 ST NW Edmonton)
Appointments will take place November 17-28
Appointments are only available Monday-Thursday during business hours and can take 15 minutes-1 hour
Missed appointments can only be rescheduled if there is availability

Your In-Person appointment requires:
Valid identification for all individuals on application
Phone Numbers and Emails for all adults
Proof of address
Proof of income sources for all individuals over 18 years old​

Successful applicants will receive a voucher.
The voucher must be kept and returned on Distribution day in exchange for the items.
Failure to provide accurate and true information may result in your application being terminated
Distribution Day
Distribution of items occurs the third week of December.
Items must be picked up in person by an adult on the application.
Proof of identity and the voucher must be provided.
Items can only be picked up during your selected pick up time
Toys for children will be selected by an adult on the application. Children are not permitted in the toy room or to be part of the selection process; this is to help keep our appointments running on time and for the toys to be a surprise.
