Music at Edmonton Temple
Music forms an integral part of Salvation Army worship and evangelism. Bands and songster brigades are an important part of church life and public events with the brass band as the most recognised feature of Salvation Army music.
"We are striving to encourage, support, and help each other grow in service for Christ and in our fellowship together as we learn life skills of working together and growing together.

May we continue to encourage and mentor each other, recognizing our legacy in Salvation Army Banding while trusting God’s will and seeing the vision that he has for our future in new and creative ways.

We pray that we will make friendships that will last a lifetime and support one another through our life’s journey.
Oh yea, and learn to play some music!"

- Bruce Coley, Junior Brass Band Leader
Senior Brass Band
We are a 38 piece brass band consisting of moderately experienced to experienced musicians. We rehearse every Tuesday from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm and participate in worship each Sunday morning. While we strive for musical excellence, our main focus is having fun and creating a healthy Christian environment. Our group is unique in that it has a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Our Christmas season is the most active season as we assist in the kettle drive which raises funds to support the work of The Salvation Army during the Christmas season and throughout the year. The band also participates in 2 or 3 special events per year. We play in a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to contemporary.
Junior Brass Band
We are a 34 piece brass band consisting of beginner to moderately experienced musicians. We rehearse every Tuesday from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm and participate in Sunday worship only on Youth Sundays which occur every other month. The Junior Band's main focus is to give youth and adults an opportunity to learn a brass instrument in a fun and healthy Christian environment. We encourage the members to remember that getting better at your instrument takes time and practice and that doing that while surrounded by friends who are going through the same journey makes it more enjoyable.
